Summary

he NuTLC men's team, also known as the Newcastle Knights, competes in the North of England Men's Lacrosse Association. The team was founded in 2008, and in the 2008-2009 season they finished third in NEMLA Division 5, narrowly missing out on a promotion spot and losing to a strong Leeds team in the Nigel Wayne Trophy Final.

After losing a few players and gaining some new ones in the off season, the Knights started the 2009-2010 season at full pelt, beating Norbury B by a score of 34-0. The team battled through a season greatly affected by the horrible English winter weather, and in May 2010 the Knights emerged as Division 5 winners.

In the 2010-2011 season, the Newcastle Knights competed in the NEMLA Premiership 3, finishing second to Liverpool and gaining promotion. This season saw the Knights go undefeated in the league for 6 months to the end of the season following 2 losses in October.

Following this promotion, the 2011-12 season saw the Knights in NEMLA’s Premiership 2. Consolidation was the aim of the season, with avoiding relegation being the main objective. The Knights succeeded due to a final weekend victory of Liverpool.

2012-13 will again see the Knights in Premiership 2 along with Rochdale, Sheffield Steelers, Brooklands, Stopfordians, Norbury, Leeds and Ashton.
